Third and Fourth Quarter 2015: Adopting a Mobile Mindset By Andy Gassaway on December 05, 2017

2015 witnessed a radical change in the way Google’s algorithms evaluate websites. More than half of Google’s traffic between June and November of 2014 occurred on mobile devices, and they responded by giving greater prominence to sites prepared to cater to those using phones, tablets, and mobile gaming devices to browse the web.

Einstein Law rose to the challenge and launched websites in the latter half of 2015 designed specifically to meet users’ expectations of an intuitive and engaging experience on mobile devices. In short, the masses spoke and we responded.

That isn’t to say that it was easy. After all, folks in the SEO industry didn’t dub this shift “Mobilegeddon” for nothing. 2015 will likely be remembered by SEO specialists, engineers, and everyone with something to sell in the online marketplace as one filled with considerable overtime spent making sites mobile-friendly in terms of usability and aesthetics. The days of expecting mobile users to constantly drag and resize their screens were suddenly long gone, and there was not much time to catch up and avoid being relegated to the lowest, loneliest recesses of the SERPs.

The new site of Reinhardt, Harper, Davis PLC, uses the Vertex theme, one of our very first Thesis themes designed specifically for mobile, but with the ability to provide an uncompromised user experience on desktop machines as well. It presents mobile users with an ultra-clean design that wastes no time in introducing their primary practice areas. Next, it segues into a concise, easy-to-read introduction to their practice, which handles a large volume of personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.

But a clean layout isn’t the only thing contributing to a better mobile experience in mobile-first themes. These sites are also designed to foster a lightning-fast load time, or “page speed,” by trimming all unnecessary digital weight. For example, photo resolution today is capable of far surpassing what can actually be perceived by the human eye. Our sites automatically scale back the resolution of images so that they still look impeccable, but without hampering page speed for anyone who does not happen to be connected to wifi or in range of the very fastest mobile internet speed.

Catering to mobile users should be a priority for everyone, but it is especially vital for law practices. After all, the need for legal representation is often urgent, and it tends to arise at times when a mobile device is the most readily available means of finding the right attorney. Einstein Law is excited to have met the challenges of 2015 in a way that not only benefits our clients, but also those who depend on our clients’ services the most.
